Empowering women, in Central America, by developing self worth with an opportunity to work, receive a sustainable income, and set a new standard for their children.

We do that one hexagon at a time.

When Mr. Producer and I were planning this cruise, we wanted to do more than just have a vacation and learn about quilting. We wanted to be able to partner up with an organization that is using our passion for quilting to make a difference in the world. Having “One Common Thread” on my podcast a couple of years ago made them a natural fit. Courtney and Kym are giving women in Honduras an opportunity to make their life better one hexagon at a time. We want to welcome them on this cruise to showcase how they are making a difference in the world we all share. check them out at www.onecommonthread.org and on all the socials #onecommonthread

FAQS

Absolutely! There is a discount coupon for anyone who’d  like to join the cruise and the fun, but not attend the workshops/presentations. After all, not everyone cares about the difference between fat quarters and add-a-quarters.

Nope. Although we’ve designed our topics for a well-rounded experience, it’s entirely up to you how many classes you attend. And, of course, the business breakouts are only for those who want to soak up EVERY bit of knowledge we have to offer.

Yes, indeedy! There will be opening and closing mingling ceremonies as well as photo ops and merch availability.

Absolutely. Your ticket includes access to all activities the Equinox offers.

a personal welcome! ... MORE ABOUT US

With great anticipation, we invite you to join us on a tropical Caribbean adventure on board the Equinox! It sails round trip from Orlando, Florida, USA  January 18 – 25, 2025.

We’ve created a unique experience with accomplished and knowledgeable machine quilters. Learn their best tips for high-end quilting skills and creative design, plus crafting the hobby or business YOU absolutely love.

Your hosts are Susan (Stitched by Susan) and David Smith (Mr. Producer )

As a machine quilter, Susan brings beauty and originality to edge to edge designs for the no-so-common couch quilt, and has helped hundreds and hundreds of quilters find freedom and confidence in their quilting skills. David is the IT guy, and together they produce Live & Unscripted, quilting’s first reality show on YouTube.

Bethanne Nemesh (White Arbor Quilting)

Bethanne is an artist who has chosen textiles, and especially quilts, as her medium. She’s won many national and international awards and it’s truly no wonder – her artistry elevates quilted textures and yarn couching to a whole new (stratospheric) level. She is an exceptional teacher with a wealth of experience.

Sam Alberts (Quilting Curve Studio)

Sam brings a fresh eye and contemporary style to her custom quilting. She’s a master of working through the infamous “quilter’s block,” creating quilting themes, and bringing unique ideas to her quilted designs.

We’ve carefully chosen these specific quilters as they are successful business entrepreneurs as well as accomplished artists. So, in addition to the feast of quilting lectures and demos, we’re serving up a side menu of a la carte business breakouts

These may include (but are not limited to) topics such as:

  • Scroll-stopping quilt photography
  • Video production & lighting for crafters
  • Strategically using social media to grow your business
  • Pricing for customers
  • Building a video library
  • Automation apps

We’ll have several to-be-determined spotlight speakers in these breakout sessions as well.

It’ll be a week of learning, laughing, and cruising adventures!

Can’t wait to see you in 2025!!

— Susan and David Smith
